The objective of the degree programme, through both compulsory and elective courses included within various educational areas and differentiated according to the three curricula, is to train professional profiles capable of adding value to companies and institutions operating in the tourism sector. This is achieved by offering innovative subjects tailored to meet the evolving demands of the labour market. In particular, within the area of Economic and Legal Sciences, students will receive training through courses closely aligned with the professional realities and daily operations of those currently working or intending to work in the tourism sector. These courses provide targeted knowledge of the economic principles and legal frameworks specifically relevant to the tourism industry. The area of Historical-Social Sciences, Cultural Heritage, and Territory aims to provide students with a solid and foundational cultural background. Through its course offerings, it simultaneously ensures a degree of specialisation suitable for a variety of professional pathways. The area seeks to equip students with broad-ranging knowledge (including geography, history, sociology, art, literature) and essential skills—such as the ability to connect tourism with globalisation and education systems, to critically assess territorial, social, and technological issues related to tourism development, and to participate in international debates regarding competencies across different domains of the tourism sector. These learning outcomes are linked to broader global themes such as sustainability, interculturality, and an educational and psychological understanding of the tourism phenomenon.
Upon completion of the degree programme, students will be expected to:
-
Demonstrate a sound understanding of the core and specialised disciplines in economics, geography, anthropology, and sociology, along with relevant humanities and legal subjects connected to the sectoral interdependencies of tourism;
-
Acquire both cultural and professional tools for planning, managing, and promoting inbound tourism, with particular focus on cultural tourism;
-
Develop specific and transferable knowledge and skills enabling them to work flexibly and in multiple capacities within the territorial and communicative networks of tourism, particularly in the domain of cultural tourism;
-
Gain the cultural and professional competencies necessary for the planning and management of businesses operating in the hospitality and tourism industry.
